Fitted Wardrobes – Everything You’ve Been Wanting to Ask

We’ve been designing and installing fitted wardrobes for a number of years now, and in that time, we’ve heard every question there is to ask (usually more than once!). So, instead of keeping the answers to ourselves, we’re getting ahead of the game and answering the most common things customers want to know – no jargon or sales pitch, just straightforward answers from people who fit wardrobes every day!

How much do fitted wardrobes actually cost?

This is the big question! The truth is, it really does depend. Every home, every space and every design is different, which means prices can vary. Whilst one wardrobe may equate to £400-600 per metre, the next might be closer to £800-1,200 per metre. However, what we can promise is that your quote will be honest, clear, upfront and with no nasty surprises!

How long will the installation of fitted wardrobes take?

We’re usually installing a fitted wardrobe for between 1 and 3 days, depending on the design. A straightforward wardrobe along one wall? We can often get that installed in just one day! However, if you’re creating a larger set up, like a full walk-in dressing room, with multiple corners, clever storage solutions and innovative features, we’ll need a few days longer. That being said, we will always let you know exactly how long we expect the installation to be when we quote for the job, and we’re known for sticking to it!

What’s the difference between freestanding wardrobes and fitted wardrobes?

Put simply: fitted wardrobes make the most of every inch of space. Installed from wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling, they squeeze every inch out of corners, tricky layouts and high ceilings. Freestanding ones on the other hand, tend to leave a lot of wasted space around them. Plus, they become dust traps! Fitted wardrobes really do feel like they ‘belong’ in a room and often create 30% more storage than freestanding furniture!

My bedroom has a nightmare layout – can you work with that?

Absolutely. In fact, this is where we shine; radiator in an odd place? We’ll build around it. Sloped ceiling? No problem. Annoying alcove that has been irritating you for years? Perfect; we love a challenge! Our fitted wardrobes are made-to-measure for your space – quirks and all!

How far in advance do I need to book my fitted wardrobe installation?

Usually, a good few weeks ahead of time, sometimes longer if it’s a busy period. Spring and summer are especially popular, so if you have a deadline in mind – maybe you’re moving in, redecorating or just need the storage – it’s always best to get in touch as early as you can.

Will fitted wardrobes add value to my home?

Yes, they absolutely can. Buyers love to see great storage included within their purchase. Estate agents notice it, and chances are you’ll recoup a good chunk of the cost if you ever sell. But more importantly, you’ll feel the benefit every day – no more clutter, no more struggling for space – just a place for everything!

What if something goes wrong?

We are confident in our work, which is why we offer a 10-year guarantee on the wardrobes and 2 years on the fittings. If anything is not quite right, we will come back and sort it. We’ve built our reputation on quality and service, and we’re not about to let that slip!

What happens during the process?

One of our designers will visit your home, measure up your space and talk you through our wardrobes and how they fit with what you’re looking for. There is no charge for this, and no pressure either! Our designer will draw up some plans, show you the designs and provide you with a quote.
