Fitted Media Rooms

Made-to-measure media rooms, designed around your home

A fitted media room brings your television, display space and everyday storage together into one considered design. During your free home design visit, your designer will measure your available space, discuss your equipment and the belongings you need to accommodate, before creating a layout that works for the way you use the room; from everyday television and gaming to films, sport, hosting and entertaining.

Every media room is made by hand to order and can be personalised with your choice of door style, colour and storage. Depending on your brief, your design could include closed cabinets for games and accessories, open display shelving, push-to-open doors, feature panelling and space for your television, sound and media equipment. You will also see your proposed media room design using CAD technology before ordering, allowing you to review the layout, proportions and finishes in your room.

Your media room designer will help you balance open display space with practical closed storage, using the available wall space effectively and choosing finishes that compliment the rest of your home. Whether you prefer contemporary gloss furniture, a timeless Shaker design or a darker, more dramatic finish, the objective is the same: to create a media room that looks considered, whilst remaining practical for everyday life.

A bespoke design makes all the difference, especially for those who take their downtime seriously and want a space that works just as hard.

Creating the Perfect Media Room

Designing a media room that feels both stylish and comfortable is key to making the most of your downtime. Unlike traditional living spaces, media rooms are purpose-built for relaxation and entertainment—so every detail matters. Smart storage and well-planned layouts help keep cables, consoles, and accessories organised and out of sight, allowing your space to feel calm and clutter-free.

Comfort is just as important. Thoughtfully placed seating that suits your room layout and viewing angles can transform the way you enjoy movies, shows, and games. Lighting also plays a crucial role—ambient options set the mood, while adjustable lighting ensures comfort during daytime or evening use. A well-designed media room should feel like a retreat, balancing practicality with indulgence. It’s not just about watching—it’s about creating a space where you genuinely love to spend time.

Frequently Asked Questions : Fitted Media Rooms

What is a fitted media room?

A fitted media room combines your television, media equipment, display space and storage within fitted furniture that’s designed specifically for your home. Unlike a freestanding television unit, the furniture is made to measure, typically to create a full ‘media wall’; using all available wall space, creating a more considered, integrated finish.

What is the difference between a media room and a media wall?

A media wall generally refers to furniture or storage arranged around a television on one wall. A media room is a broader term for a space designed around watching television, films, gaming or entertaining. Our made-to-measure furniture can be used to create a fitted media wall within a living room, snug, games room or a dedicated media room.

Do I need a separate room to create a fitted media room?

No. Many of our media room designs are created for everyday living rooms, family rooms, snugs and open-plan spaces. Your fitted furniture designer will consider how the room is used throughout the day, ensuring your new media wall or media room works as part of your wider living spacem rather than making it feel like a dedicated cinema room (unless you’d like it to!).

Can you design the furniture around my existing television?

Yes. Your media furniture can be designed around the dimensions and position of your television. It’s helpful to provide your designer with the exact screen size and model, particularly if the television will sit within a fitted surround. If you are considering upgrading to a larger television in the future, mention this during your design appointment so it can be considered within the layout.

What equipment and storage can be included?

Your designer can plan space for items such as television boxes, games consoles, soundbars, speakers, routers, games, remote controls and other accessories. You can combine closed cabinets, open display areas and feature shelving, depending on what you want to keep accessible, display or hide away.

Can a fitted media room help to hide cables?

The furniture can be planned with your television, media equipment, sockets and cable routes in mind, helping the finished room look neater and less cluttered. It’s important to discuss cables, socket positions and any planned electrical or audiovisual work at the design stage, so that everything can be coordinated before installation.

Can acoustic panels be incorporated into the design?

Decorative acoustic panels can be included in selected media room designs, subject to your chosen layout and finish. As well as adding warmth, depth and texture, acoustic-style panelling can help soften sound within a room. It should not, however, be confused with full soundproofing, which is a separate specialist process.

Are fitted media rooms suitable for small living rooms?

Yes. Made-to-measure media furniture can be particularly helpful in a smaller room because the layout is designed around the available space. Combining the television, storage and display areas within one fitted design can reduce the need for several separate pieces of furniture and help the room feel calmer and better organised.

Which styles and colours are available?

Our media rooms are available in many of the same furniture collections and finishes as our fitted wardrobes and fitted bedrooms. Current options include contemporary designs, timeless Shaker furniture and sleek Gloss finishes, with a choice of colours available within each collection. Your designer can help you compare combinations and choose a finish that compliments your existing décor.

Can my media room match other fitted furniture in my home?

Yes. Because our media furniture is available in the same designs and colours as many of our fitted bedroom, fitted wardrobe and home-office ranges, it can be coordinated with furniture elsewhere in your home. This can be particularly effective in open-plan interiors or adjoining rooms where you want to maintain a consistent style.

What happens during a media room design appointment?

During your free home design visit, your designer will measure the space and ask about your television, media equipment, storage requirements and preferred furniture styles. They will then develop a made-to-measure layout and use CAD technology to help you visualise how the proposed furniture could look in your home. Design appointments are available seven days a week; morning, afternoon and evening.

How much does a fitted media room cost?

The cost of a media room will depend on factors such as the size of the installation, the furniture collection, the amount of storage required and any additional design features you select. Because every room is different, your designer will create an individual design and quotation based on your space and requirements.
