Maximising storage space with built-in furniture
We first worked with fashion and interiors influencer Claire Chanelle in 2020, helping her create the ultimate walk-in-wardrobe for her enviable collection of handbags, shoes and accessories. With a keen eye for design, her finished project was featured in The Times newspaper. So when she came to us to ask for help transforming two more rooms in her home – we couldn’t wait to find out what she had in mind!
First up was under stairs storage in the entrance to her home. This large alcove was crying out for fitted wardrobes to create additional space to store coats when guests came to visit. It’s also used for Claire’s impressive coat collection.
A simple, paired back design was chosen to be in keeping with the neutral palette and classic styling of the rest of her home. Our Cassia design was perfect for this subtle design change which has created a huge amount of storage meaning that coats have their own special place to be stored away.
Claire’s second project was a loft room which needed some TLC … and again yet more storage. We maximised the space in a compact bedroom to create under eaves storage for guests, as well as adding in yet more discreet storage in an alcove on the landing.
Claire chose our modern shaker design Elle in white. As you can see – the finish is refined and elegant, in keeping with the rest of her home. Every possible inch of space has been maximised in the room and the awkward alcoves and small spaces have been used to their fullest.
